Gatundu MP Moses Kuria has been arrested.

Moses Kuria was arrested on Monday, April 12, after a night raid that was conducted along the Northern Bypass. It is reported that he was found flouting the Covid-19 rules by holding a meeting inside one of the hotels.

The MP also confirmed his arrest through his Facebook page in a short post stating that he was being held at Karuri Police Station in Kiambu County. Photos showed him at the OB desk at Karuri Police Station alongside some of his supporters.

Reports state that Gatundu MP Moses Kuria held the meeting inside one of the hotels along the Northern Bypass to discuss the upcoming Juja by-election which is slated for May 18, 2021.

He is supporting Hon George Koimburi who is a candidate for the Juja by-election and standing on his People Empowerment Party. Moses Kuria also earlier in the day had announced that the police had arrested the wife to Hon George Koimburi.

“The cowards have arrested the wife to Hon George Koimburi, PEP Candidate for Juja. She will be arraigned in a Thika court tomorrow. But verily, verily I say unto you. Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come. Tukutane Thika asubuhi,” he said.

Juja by-election will see Hon George Koimburi, PEP Candidate, face off with Susan Waititu who is the widow of the late MP Francis Waititu, popularly known as Wakapee.
